Company Goals

The goal of the company is to create Quality, Innovative, Functional, Stylish and Affordable (QIFSA) products that will attract users from a broad market segment. Everyone will find something that they like. Each segment of QIFSA is just as important as the other and is emphasized strongly throughout the entire development cycle of each new product.

Quality - First and foremost, there is a strong emphasis on quality. Quality, whether be it the stitching on a leather product, or the build of a case, is always kept at a high standard. Quality is emphasized throughout the manufacturing process, right from the start where the raw materials are selected, to the end where the product is packaged.

Innovation - In today's overcrowded market place, products have to stand out and offer something different and innovative that will not only enhance the products' value, but will also solve real problems that people have with other accessories. Some of the results from innovation are silicone cases that do not attract dust or become sticky and ultra-clear protectors that feature an underlying layer of silicon for additional protection.

Functionality - Accessories have to work. It's as simple as that. At iStyles, not only must the accessories work, they must also have a certain value-added component that will enrich a user's experience of the device. Examples include iPod 4th Generation Silicone cases with foldable bottoms that allow docking as well as smooth silicone on the iPod Video and nano Silicone cases to enhance clickwheel usage.

Style - People come to iStyles to dress up their gadget. The dress obviously has to be nice. Much emphasis has been placed in making products that are Desirable, Attractive and Trendy (DAT). Affordability - There seems to be a general misconception that accessories, and especially iPod accessories, have to be expensive to be of any good. iStyles has always been working on bringing cost to the lowest possible levels and passing the savings on to the customers, while still maintaining the highest possible standards. Affordability is never achieved at the expense of quality. Affordability is usually achieved through economies of scale and refinement of processes. History

iStyles' humble beginnings didn't start off in fashion or accessories. In fact, the core competence of the company was in an area that was completely different from what it does today. The company started life as ObjectsFusion, a web development firm that was founded in 1997 and created web services, applications and e-commerce infrastructure for various companies, both locally and abroad. It prided itself for being at the leading edge of web technology in a fast and ever changing landscape. This technical knowledge that the company built up was later to be the foundation that helps build the iStyles infrastructure today.

In 2004, the company created two new business divisions - a web hosting arm and an online iPod accessories web store. The iPod accessories business began life on pdatrends.com and was moved to iPodStyles.com in January 2005 for better brand focus and management. The hard work after that paid off as traffic and sales skyrocketed, propelling the entire company forward. Things happened quickly as the company keep up with the burgeoning sales volume by building better infrastructure, using technology to automate processes, and refining business procedures. The web hosting division was dissolved in the process to help support the technical requirements of the iStyles.com website.

The name "iStyles" was acquired in August 2005 after a dispute with Apple Inc over the usage of the word "iPod" in "iPodStyles", and the business was re-branded under the new name. The incident turned out to do more good than bad as "iStyles" become a much stronger brand than "iPodStyles" and it also allowed the company to expand market reach into non-iPod related products.

In early 2006, the company was renamed as iStyles Pte. Ltd. and incorporated in Singapore. This marked the next milestone in the company's expansion plans, preparing it for greater expansion and style innovation. Despite a fiercely competitive iPod accessories market, the company continues to grow consistently and differentiate itself from its competitors as the leading fashion accessories provider.
