Last month, PalmSource announced that the next version of the Palm OS won't include any desktop synchronization software for the Apple Macintosh. HP and Information Appliance Associates are pointing out that if Mac users have to buy a third-party synchronization conduit with their next handheld, these might as well be a Pocket PC and PocketMac.

The two have teamed up to create PalmUptrade.com, which urges users of Palm OS models to trade in their Palms for rebates on HP iPAQs and PocketMac synchronization software.
