This release is primarily intended for the Tungsten T5 and Treo-650 which, if you frequent this forum, you will know have many unusual issues. This has nothing to do with the next major release that I'm working on, so don't expect to see lots of exciting new feature here!
This is the official release for V-5.4a. There are virtually no changes from the r1 release, but as a matter of good procedure, anyone who has any prior release of V-5.4a should now install this release. I do have a policy that once an official release is posted, support for all prior previews and release candidates is terminated, so if you report a problem with a prior V-5.4a release, you will be told to first install the official release before any support is provided (this of course only makes sense for both the customer and developer).
I usually end up posting a step release fairly soon after the first official release as the much broader release usually flushes out a few obscure bugs. It may be less in this case, as the V-5.4a release has been downloaded by most Treo-650/T5 users so it's been in fairly wide distribution.
The only items that I'm aware of here in the V-5.4a release is some missing Spanish translations (notably the pull-down split-screen menu list) and an obscure issue of running the Japanese version on a device with an English Rom with JOS and TSFonts.
I will leave this release up for some 24-48 hours and then start the rounds of updating the most commonly frequented websites where people download DateBk5 from (just in case some show-stopper slipped in at the last moment and escaped notice).
And this will of course allow me to crank up work on the next major release that I've already been working on. Some neat stuff coming up!!
Cheers!
