Question 4th Gen iPod Silicon Case

1st off, I want to remark that I am still a little upset over the last incident when I purchased the Princess Sparkle sleeve for my 4th Gen iPod & the 1st piece could not even fit the iPod... Then after sending it back for a replacement, the 2nd set barely made it in... Too tight fit for usage already... Wasted my money on this and there was absolutely no notice given to consumers about the possible tight fit of the sleeve for larger devices like my iPod... The product description gives the impression that there will be no issues which is not the case...

Worse still, the insides of the sleeve dirtied my rare Fashion iSkin with the large logos instead of the current small patterns which I had procured from overseas before LV raised the copyright issue to iStyles and the subsequent change in design. Needless to say I am very unhappy as I am unable to clean off the dirt stuck on the various corners and edges of my iSkin...

All the above has forced me to decide to discard my favourite iSkin which has been ruined by your inferior sleeve for a Black silicon case instead. So I just want to know what it means by "foldable bottom for cradle docking" ? I use a cradle with my 40GB 4th Gen iPod so I would appreciate a better description or maybe some pictures if possible of how this works... & I hope that I do not have to worry about the iPod not fitting in/poor fit as this one is supposed to be made for my exact model...

Re: 4th Gen iPod Silicon Case

I'm sorry to hear that you've had additional incidents since the last issue at http://forum.istyles.com/product-sup...t-4g-ipod.html but I do appreciate your repeated visits and purchases despite these issues.

No mention of tight fittings was mentioned in our Sleeve product pages simply because the sleeves do fit and of the thousands of sleeves so far, the only issue we had of a tight fit was in your case. It might have been simply a bad match of large iPod with the Princess Sparkle material as some materials are less forgiving than others. The replacement case that we sent you will fit but it will be a little tight as you've experienced because of the size of your iPod. We have added the notice about the possible tight fitting for a 4th Gen iPod 40GB/60GB to all the sleeve product pages.

The insides of the sleeves are not dirty. They're all brand new but what might have happened in your case might be the tight fit that caused the skin edges to lift a little or constantly scrap against the insides of the sleeve, thus ripping off fabrics from the micro-fiber cloth on the inside. The micro-fiber cloth is more delicate than ordinary cloth in some sense as it's supposed to protect the iPod. The ones used in the sleeves are similar to those that are used to clean spectacles.

LV never contacted us. Copyright issues are something that we take very seriously and we do edit designs to prevent any possible infringements.

Attached are some photos of the 4th Gen iPod silicone case that I've taken for you. The 4th Gen silicone cases were launched a long time back, back in the days where it took 2 hours+ to remove the background and process every image. The images made available were thus limited.

Once again, I do appreciate your return to evaluate more of our products for purchase despite the issues that you faced. Do remember to use the "IAMBACK" coupon for the 10% discount.

    iPod Silicon Case

This thread is here as the site admin was very quick to close my thread with the negative remarks & I did not have the chance to clear my queries about the silicon skin I was interested in...

Anyway, I saw the pics posted in my other thread & my only concern here is the durability of the silicon skin & its foldable bottom as I frequently synchronise my iPod with my PC via the cradle since I use mine as an external hard disk. I wonder if your silicon case can handle repeated folding of the bottom on perhaps a weekly basis ?

Just to clarify the issue about my rare iSkin which was ruined due to the sleeve, it was LV who contacted DecalGirl about the similarity of the Fashion skin to the patented LV design. As a result, all Fashion skins for iPods produced later on had the smaller imprints. There were a few batches of the skins with the larger imprints that were sold and are now officially "out of print" due to possible copyright infringements raised by LV.

Re: 4th Gen iPod Silicon Case

The thread was closed because the issue was considered resolved. You'll notice that you have the option to reopen the thread if you have further queries. Either way, I've merged both threads and will leave the thread open for a short while for you to post further if you wish to. Being quick to close a thread does not imply that we're trying to cover up the matter as you're suggesting as the threads are still available for public view. It simply means that we resolve issues quickly. We do not delete any threads and you can read through all the previous support issues that we've worked on in this forum with absolutely no censorship. All posts will be naturally bad stuff as people who're happy will generally not post anything.

LV never contacted DecalGirl. We work very closely with them. Many of the items that you see on our store is an extension of whatever they retail as our systems are interlinked.

We make no guarantee on the lifespan of the folds on the 4th Gen silicone cases. The material should last for a long time as silicone is flexible and can withstand repeated folds and even stretches but as with all hinges, it will naturally wear down if subject to excessive abuse over time.

Re: 4th Gen iPod Silicon Case

You're most welcome. Do purchase the silicone cases from iStyles > What rocks you? > iPod 4th Gen > Silicone Cases for 40GB/60GB - iPod, PSP & DS Fashion Accessories as those are the ones that will fit your iPod.

Feel free to contact us if you require any further assistance. I'll proceed to close the thread.

Silicon case w/o belt slits ?

I just received my silicon case for 4G iPods and I must admit that this is a far better product compared to the sleeve I bought earlier.

I am just wondering why my silicon case does not have the belt slits as seen in the pictures on your product page ? Has this feature been removed or should I be concerned that mine doesn't ?

Re: 4th Gen iPod Silicon Case

I'm glad that you like the silicone case better. I just had a look at the inventory for the 4th Gen 40GB/60GB cases and they indeed to not come with any slits.

The factory must have removed the slits for the newer batches probably because prolonged usage of the slit to hang the 40/60GB may stretch the material due to the heavier weight of the device. Only the 20GB/30GB 4th Gen models come with the slit and the 4th Gen 40/60GB Silicone pages have been updated. We did not notice this earlier. Sorry about that.
