    Using templates

    Good Eveining

I'm looking at creating my own PSP skins. I've downloaded the template, found some adhesive vinyl on the ebay, and now I'm a bit stuck. Can anyone point me at a tutorial on using the template please? Do I need to create my design on a different layer and print that? Can I use PaintShop Pro? So many questions

    Thanks in advance,

Hi RussellF, if you're trying to print the skins yourself, you'll need Adobe Photoshop ( Adobe - Adobe Photoshop Family ) to edit the templates. I don't think PaintShop will work.

The designs can be created on the Artwork layer. The cutline layer is just a guide as to where we typically cut the skins. I'm not sure how you can go about the cutting process if you do the printing yourself as most homes will not come with a professional cutter but one possibility is to print the cutlines, but modify them so that they're thinner, but yet still visible, and then cut the final product with a pair of scissors or penknife.

The other issue that you've got to be careful with is the type of adhesive vinyl that you're using. The concern will be that it leaves lots of residue upon removal and that will spoil your device.
